2017 was a terrific year for electric cars and for EV education and outreach across California. Charge Across Town was busy …
We conducted over 20 statewide events, 3000+ test drives, and talked to thousands of consumers about going electric. We held events in every region of the state – from Chula Vista to Bakersfield to Shasta County – and spent three days at the California State Fair, and hosted test-drives at the state’s largest auto shows.
We worked closely with all the major automotive OEMs – and their activation and marketing teams launching new cars and models – along with dozens of auto dealerships across the state, to bring the latest battery, plug-in hybrid, and fuel cell cars to consumers for FREE test-drives.
EV Week 2017 was the most successful event ever in San Francisco with hundreds of test-drives and over 100,000 people reached.
We completed the Best.Drive.EVer. campaign for the Plug-In Electric Vehicle Collaborative (PEVC), now Veloz!
We managed the Sacramento Municipal Utility District’s (SMUD) series of electric car ride and drive events across the greater Sacramento region, at state and community fairs, shopping centers, and the SAC Auto Show.
Throughout the year we partnered with PG&E, Bloomberg NEF, Center for Sustainable Energy, San Diego Gas and Electric, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, San Francisco Department of the Environment, Project Clean Air and the San Joaquin Valley EV Partnership, EVPerks, California Fuel Cell Partnership, SAC EV, National Drive Electric Week, and many more stakeholders across California – all helping to move more people into electric cars.
While our consumer data and surveys are still being gathered and analyzed, there is no doubt that Charge Across Town has had a significant impact on moving people to electric cars.
Yes, it has been a busy year and with so much more to do in 2018. There is a reason California is the EV Capital of America – it is due to people like you, and all the passion and hard work we bring to helping make cleaner air and zero emission cars the standard for all Californians.
We look forward to working with all of you next year!
